Teatrea Festival

In 2010 El Perro Azul creates TEATREA, theatre festival for kids which very soon becomes a referent in La Rioja. Over 300 companies have taken part in the programming of a festival that will turn 15 in 2025. Currently it is owned by the Culture Department of La Rioja, institution we collaborate with managing art direction and production of the event.

Teatrea opts for intelligent playwrights, stories capable of touching the audience, audiences who, after 15 years, are loyal to the festival. Kids are today’s audiences, not tomorrows. Every show is full with little nuances which become great stories. We plan, rather than a theatre in control, one in freedom. We need to understand that kids need the possibility of enjoying powerful stories, as powerful as their own lives.
